Knurling is used to enable unrestricted pivoting of the polyurethane bush around the crush tube or any other mating steel surfaces. The knurling has inherent design advantages – reducing the surface area of polyurethane in contact with the crush tube, which results in less frictional force being developed. The design of the SuperPro knurl bore combined with the integral grease retention lips, keeps the lubricating grease intact for the life of the bushing, and eliminates the necessity for periodic re-greasing. Bullet grooves are incorporated in the design of SuperPro bushes to allow for variances in control arm or spring eyes. The voiding and bullet grooves also allow for the transgression of displaced polyurethane into the volume of the grooves as the loads of normal vehicle operation are applied. Even though polyurethane is in a solid form when it is manufactured into bushes, its unique properties enable it flow in a manner similar to a liquid when loaded. The action of the bush flowing into its voids prevents the generation of noise, vibration and harshness within the bush and its mount. The tangential grease grooves in the heads of shackle bushes reduce the friction between the head of the bush and the shackle plates. The grooves store grease, which is smeared around the mating surfaces when the spring shackles rotate, forming a lubrication boundary layer. This has the effect of minimising head friction and reducing noise. Holden VT VU VX VY VZ Commodore Brembo Big Brake Kit 4-Piston (Rear) Inc. The most affordable big brake kit for VT-VZ Commodores! Under 3-Hour installation time. Upgrade your brakes to these MASSIVE 4-piston Rear Brembo calipers a huge improvement from the factory Commodore brakes! This brake upgrade kit has been specifically designed to suit Holden VT, VU, VX, VY & VZ Commodores. It utilises the rear Brembo calipers from VF2 Redline edition models. This means future access to affordable replacement pads and discs. NOTE: The rear calipers in this kit are also from the Cadillac CTS-V. These are identical calipers to the Brembo calipers on. VF Redline edition models, except they have the GM’s V logo printed on the front instead of the Brembo logo. They are 100% genuine Brembo calipers made in Italy. The kit is very straight-forward and easy to install by anyone familiar with brake systems and can be installed with basic hand tools in under 3 hours. The adaptor brackets are manufactured from billet 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium and are heat treated and anodized black to guarantee durability. The kit retains use of the factory handbrake. (RDA Part Number: RDA7376, DBA Part Number: DBA42031) IMPORTANT: You will need to enlarge the centre hole on both front and rear rotors from 67.4mm to 71.4mm (if you follow the same taper/angle as the stock centre hole). If you cannot reproduce the same taper, then it is recommend to increase the hole size to 76.2mm this will still allow the disc to still sit central on the hub because of the stainless steel stud sleeves (included with our kit). The hole can be enlarged with a rotary tool/Dremel quite easily, however we do recommend having it done on a lathe or by a machinist. Brake pads are included in this kit (RDX2083). Rear brake pads required: Equivalent to VF2 Redline Edition Models with rear Brembo Calipers (RDA Part Number: RDX2083). The factory steering knuckles are cast iron and may have an uneven finish from the manufacturing process. This can cause the brackets to not sit flush against the knuckle. If this is the case, you will need to sand/grind the steering knuckles to a smooth finish. You will need a minimum 18 wheels to clear the brake upgrade. Wheels needs to have an offset of 35mm 42mm. Larger offsets can work but these wheels usually have concave wheel spokes that may rub on the caliper. In some instances, a small wheel spacer (2mm-5mm thick) may be required. Available to suit all 4th Generation Commodores variants, from VE, VE MY12 and VF. With the option of MAF or MAFless configurations depending on your preference and setup to help you gain the most out of your engine. With gains in not only performance but in most cases fuel economy as well. Now available as a bundle with VCM Performance Infill Panel and Fascia panels!! Vehicles built from September 2011 are considered MY12, if you are unsure of your vehicles build date, it can be checked by inspecting the build plate mounted on the left hand strut tower of your engine bay. Vehicles (VF2) with the “sound enhancer” fitted will need the sound enhancer deleted totally.
