The leather is still soft and supple without some clear signs of wear and marks commensurate with age and use, mainly that the black leather pigment has faded to a browner shade on much of the rim, creating a lovely patina. The stitching is complete and tight throughout. The seams are straight and true. The centre pad is excellent. The horn mechanism is confirmed working. There are new screws included.
